Mr. Nirbhay Jain

A founder trustee of the Chakshu Foundation, Mr. Jain believes in the empowerment of the underprivileged through education, self-reliance, and sustained livelihood. He feels that it is the social responsibility of the corporate sector and highly placed individuals to reach out to the poor and underdeveloped rural areas, and to improve their lives through social service.

He managed to take time out for social service even while he was working with the Birla Group at a very senior position. Since retirement, he has committed himself full-time to the cause of uplifting the poor and backward.
Mr. Utsav Kapadia

Mr. Kapadia has done his B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT - Mumbai, and M.Sc. in Industrial Metallurgy and Management Techniques from the UK. He has a strong industrial background and wide experience in corporate business management. His desire to utilise his skills for helping the underdeveloped sections of society, has led him to support various social causes and development initiatives.

He is on the board of directors of various organisations; and besides the Chakshu Foundation, he is also a trustee of the Kalyandas Memorial Sports Foundation, the H.P.L. Public Charitable Trust and the Annakrish Trust. He is a part of the Consulting Committee for the Borderless World Foundation that runs orphanages for young girls in the affected areas of Kashmir in India.
Mr. Pradeep Jalan

With a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay, and a Ph.D in Finance from Canada, Mr Jalan has acquired strong technical and management skills over the course of a varied career that spans more than 35 years. He is able to view the issues relating to social and economic development with a critical eye that is attuned to the values that prevail in developed and developing nations.

He has served as a volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross for 18 months as the Finance & Administration Delegate overseeing the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC, Geneva) refugee operations in Uganda.

Based in Canada, he is presently an independent financial planner. He is involved in Chakshu Foundation’s developmental plans, and works towards establishing transparency in the financial operations of the organisation.
Mrs. Urmila Jain

As a founder trustee of Chakshu Foundation, Mrs Jain has been actively involved in social work in the field of education, health, eye care, social welfare, etc, in the surrounding villages of Panvel in Navi Mumbai. She has been the guiding force of the Foundation and has spent over 20 years relentlessly striving for the empowerment of the people from underdeveloped rural areas.

Starting with just a few villages, today her dedication and efforts have helped in transforming more than 65 villages. She continues to devote time to various development activities carried out by the Foundation.
Mrs. Varsha Jain

As a founder trustee of Chakshu Foundation, Mrs Jain has been actively involved in social work in the field of education, health, eye care, social welfare, etc, in the surrounding villages of Panvel in Navi Mumbai. MANAGING TEAM
Ms. Anandi Vangal (Director – School)

Ms. Vangal is the Director of the Rakesh Jain Secondary School started by Chakshu Foundation in Shivkar village in Navi Mumbai. With vast experience in the field of Education for the last 25 years, both administratively and academically, she is trying to bring about many progressive changes in the school environment by introducing new activities, holding various workshops and community welfare programmes for the children of the School.

She believes in inculcating humane, sensitive, compassionate and progressive values in children, so they can become good human beings. Her efforts are to help the students acquire knowledge that will enable them to surmount any problem by using their common sense, and to make education more appealing and conducive to their environment. The aim of educating children, according to her, “is to make them confident, responsible and contributing to the society in every sphere and capacity”. She also believes in making education holistic, so that school becomes a ‘home away from home’.
Ms. Shefali Kapadia (Director - Special Projects)

Shefali Kapadia makes full use of her background in Interior Design to provide the creative spark to the SKSCF team. Shefali has lived and worked in the US, and can appreciate the nuances of culture in shaping one's points of view. Her professional skills, along with a heightened awareness and sensitivity to cultural issues, makes Shefali the ideal person to initiate and establish programs designed to empower women.

By managing special projects such as health camps and nutrition programs for women, Shefali has enhanced SKSCF's ability to expand the scope of offerings that can be made available through the Women's Self Help Groups.

Shefali believes in adopting an innovative approach to improving the livelihood of others. In addition to her volunteer work with SKSCF, Shefali is a trustee of Blossoming Hope Charitable Trust and Shreyans Trust.
